Was ist das Lemon Tree Collective?
Das Lemon Tree Collective is a grassroots organisation that supports families who are heavily affected by the ongoing genocide in Gaza, Palestine. The project was founded in 2024 by Helen Fares to evacuate sick children, and pregnant women from Gaza and is now working on three projects in Gaza, Egypt and Syria.
Our main project is based in Gaza, where we are currently providing food to over 120 families affected by poverty and hunger, and regularly organizing access to clean drinking water in camps for forcibly displaced families. Additionally, we started a school program in Khan Younes for young children and since many families’ houses have been destroyed, we are also providing tents.
In Egypt, we are providing over 30 displaced families from Gaza with safe housing and emergency medical aid.
In Syria, over 200 families, who have lost their livelihoods due to the aftermath of the war, are regularly supported with food packages.
Wie erreichen die Spenden Gaza?
Our local staff in Gaza have bank accounts in Palestine, to which we regularly transfer the donations. Since most merchants in Gaza only accept cash, the money must then be withdrawn at currency exchange offices, which charge very high commissions of 30-45%. Unfortunately, there is almost never an alternative to this, unless a merchant agrees to accept bank transfers, but even then, very high commissions are usually charged.

Due to the blockades, we are currently unable to import new food into Gaza and consequently cannot influence food prices.
We are providing as many people as possible who are threatened with starvation by the Israeli occupying forces with food and water that we purchase locally in Gaza. However, these food supplies are extremely limited due to the blockade imposed by the Zionist occupying forces, making them incredibly expensive and unaffordable for the majority of society.

Yes, we can issue donation receipts through our non-profit partner organisation deepsolidarity.
If you indicated on the donation form that you require a donation receipt, please follow these instructions to create your own donation receipt and download it directly:
1. Visit our donation portal: portal.deepsolidarity.net
2. Enter the email address you used when making the donation and click the “Send link” button.
3. You should now receive a confirmation email including the link to your personal dashboard.
4. On your dashboard, click on “Generate receipts” (you may need to click a second time) and download your receipts.
